Some History..
THANATHU KAITHARIKADA Handloom, the home of authentic handloom products since 1944. Our story is one of passion, tradition, and excellence. It began with our founder, M Sadasiva Panicker, who started handloom production with 40 skilled weavers and supplied handloom products to Karalkada in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
S. Sadasiva Panicker was a master trainer for handloom weavers and had a passion for producing high-quality handloom products. In 1980, his son in law, Mr. Jagatheeshan and his son Mr. Rajendran, took over the business and continued the legacy of producing authentic handloom products ,supplying them to well-known brands like Hantex, Karalkada, and others across Kerala. Later he handed over THANATHU KAITHARIKADA to his son Shine for further development
In 1990, THANATHU KAITHARIKADA Handloom was born in Balaramapuram, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India, with a commitment to preserving the traditional art of handloom weaving and supporting skilled weavers. In 2010, the business was passed down to the third generation, and we have since continued the legacy of producing only genuine handloom products with the Handloom Mark.
Our mission is to develop the handloom industry and protect the skilled weavers who make these unique products. We are committed to providing high-quality, authentic products while supporting the skilled weavers who make them. Our dream is to expand our brand globally and become known as a leader in the handloom industry.
To showcase our products and bring them closer to our customers, we opened the THANATHU KAITHARI KADA Handloom showroom in Anayara, Thiruvananthapuram in 2012. The showroom was inaugurated by Minister Kadakampally Surendran and has since become a destination for those looking for genuine authentic handloom products in India.
In May-2023 we have started our prestigious store in Lulu Mall Trivandrum.
